In 2011 Nike Golf bought from Puku Ltd, a company I founded in 2003, a patented “dual axis” technology I invented in 2007.
Last week myself and a colleague in Kiwi Patents Ltd attended the world’s biggest golf trade show in Orlando FL USA, where Nike released their new Nike Covert driver with “Flexloft” as they have called the “dual-axis” technology.
WOW WOW WOW The Covert looks good (even classy), is easy to adjust, and hits great.
- What fun it is to see the idea you thought a few years ago or come to the market in such a fine iteration.
- There was quite a buzz at the demo day. In fact a queue of people wanting to hit it. I was hitting low straight drives with the first setting and then with a change in setting I was hitting it 20 foot higher and still straight …. nice
Everything matters – and Nike have done a great job here I reckon…… Now whether even Nike can chase down powerhouse Taylormade in drivers in 2013 remains to be seen.
